You must know this type â" the one that always grabs her chances. I successfully balanced between my personal and professional life. I held control over more or less everything that mattered to me. I worked really hard and I still do. My family is my greatest support. I love my husband and my kids. In a word, I have everything I need to be happy. And I am happy! And I am grateful too⦠Probably more than I ever was! Why now? Well, thatâs because I recently learned one of the greatest life lessons. A few months ago, my car smashed into a big traffic sign when I was rushing to my office. Firstly, I was devastated. Then I lost my self-esteem. Then I suffered. These days, Iâm dealing with my struggles and anxieties, but I know that Iâm headed in the right direction. How? Hereâs my story. I stopped blaming myself for the accident Like I said, I used to be a fighter who rises to the challenge. But after the accident, the situation has changed. These days, I feel that I need to endure so much. Sometimes âso muchâ becomes âtoo muchâ. I am still afraid of opening up about the storm inside my head. I suspect that my family wonât really understand me. Itâs tough, thereâs no doubt about it. I rarely ever speak about this, but Iâve noticed a gradual improvement once I started being kind to myself. I am still working on this, but my first advice to everyone who goes through a similar situation would be to love themselves in spite of the frustration, anger, and disappointment. Saying âHi, dearâ to yourself with a big smile on your face in the morning will do wonders for your self-respect.

Introverts are often faced with issues, when it comes to developing relationships with their co-workers, which often cause them to feel they are compromising their values. It feels like a real dilemma, because to some degree it would be fun to occasionally be included with a group from work for some after-hours bonding. The dilemma causes most Introverts to be seriously grumpy. Is this you? I totally know how you feel. I have faced the same issues. I donât drink and I seriously dislike listening to sports much less talk about sports. (I use sports news as my benchmark at night to turn off the TV). Schmoozing I can do but prefer more substantial interactions. Hereâs what I have discovered: Drinking with co-workers. If drinking wine or any alcohol isnât what you do, you donât need to start now just to spend time with your co-workers. On the other hand, you donât need to miss every after-work gathering just because they are and you arenât. Youâre missing out on an opportunity to simply spend time getting to know others better and in a different setting. The important part of the activity is the socializing, not the drinking and when you donât join in, you are choosing to stay an outsider. Too much. Sure, some people can get intense about how much they drink and how long they stay at some of these functions. You need to have your boundaries clearly established for yourself in terms of these issues. It doesnât matter if someone is drinking or not, you donât need to hang out with people who get out of control for any reason. It also doesnât mean that once you join into an event you have to stay there until the bitter end. As an introvert, it may be tough to simply go and be around so many people but it is also the thing that you can prepare for in advance by defining how long you will participate. Keep in mind that reinforcing relationships is more about quality, not quantity. Attitude. One of the things I have witnessed with other Introverts in these situations is a bad attitude. The common attitude is âI shouldnât have to drink with the boss or _______ just to get ahead at work.â True, you shouldnât have to but you are also missing the point. The point is not the drinking (or watching sports or whatever you donât like to do) its about developing the relationship. If you fail to develop relationships with your co-workers, you are failing yourself and career. While you can develop your relationship during work hours, you have to understand that for some people, that doesnât work for them. Others need to spend time in non-work situations in order to be comfortable and relaxed enough to get the most out of it. We donât all do the same things the same way, including nurturing relationships. Suggest alternatives. You can take it upon yourself to suggest something youâd prefer doing after work. You can take an informal poll to find out other things your co-workers would prefer. It can range from bowling, dining or hitting a coffee shop. Keep in mind that just like going to a bar, not everyone will join in anyway. The main thing is that you are taking some leadership on relationship development. It is all about relationships. If you are sitting there right now also opposing the idea of developing relationships with your co-workers, you are putting your career in peril. Studies show that 80% of what will factor into your career success is how well you interact with the people you work with. Thatâs too huge to ignore. Your next career opportunity, job, promotion, cool project or resource will only come with or through another person. Keep that in mind the next time the group at work wants to do something. Helping Kids with ADHD become Strong Readers Reading skills are central to every academic subject, and kids who struggle to read are at risk for difficulty in math, science, history, and writing. Research shows that kids with ADHD are more likely to have reading challenges than kids without ADHD, possibly because of working memory and processing speed weaknesses. Reading problems may be subtle at first and involve difficulty identifying letters or sounds. Over time, problems can include slower reading speed, difficulty with decoding, poor sight word identification, and poor reading comprehension. Once a child has fallen well behind his or her peers in reading he or she is unlikely to catch up without extra support. Research shows that kids with reading difficulties do best when they receive interventions as early as possible. So, if you suspect that your childs reading skills arent developing as well as they should be, talk to your childs teacher now. Understanding how to help a child with ADHD improve his or her reading skills can be challenging. I usually recommend starting with an academic assessment. Results from a thorough evaluation will let you and your childs teacher know exactly which reading skills are weak, will identify whether or not your child has a specific reading disorder that needs to be addressed, and will explain how your childs ADHD symptoms and difficulties with motivation are impacting his or her reading development. All of this information will help you and your childs teachers identify strategies and services that are tailored to meet your childs needs. Extra instructional support at school and through afterschool learning and tutoring programs can help your child learn basic and complex reading skills that he or she may have missed during regular classroom instruction. Many kids with ADHD are reluctant to read and go out of their way to avoid of reading. When they do read they choose books that are too easy for them or are very short. Unfortunately, this reluctance limits their opportunities to practice reading and gain essential skills. As a parent, there are many things you can do to help your child get the reading practice that is needed, without engaging in stressful arguments or negotiations. Here are some suggestions to get you started: Read to your child. Even kids who do not like to read enjoy having someone else read to them. Reading to your child can help improve his or her skills, especially when you have your child read along and ask your child to share his or her predictions and observations about the story. Take turns reading. If your child resists reading, offer to alternate reading aloud with him or her. For young children this might mean that they read one word or sentence and then you read the next word or sentence. For older children you can alternate paragraphs. Keep going and before you know it, youre child will have read half of a book! Supplement with skills practice on reading apps. Studies suggest that kids with ADHD may benefit from practicing their reading skills using computer-based reading programs. Bluster is a fun vocabulary building app, Montessori Crosswords is great for learning phonics, and Mad Libs can be a fun way for kids 4th grade and up to practice vocabulary and reading comprehension. Help your child explore websites on topics that they enjoy. Exploring interesting websites can be a great way for kids to practice reading without even realizing they are building new skills! Sit with your child and ask him or her to share what he or she is learning as he or she reads. This will improve his or her comprehension, and youll be sure that he or she is not skipping the text and only looking at pictures. With support and practice kids with ADHD can develop into strong readers. If you suspect that your childs reading skills are not as strong as they should be, dont wait. Talk to your childs teacher right away so you can get started with a plan to get your child the help that he or she needs. ABOUT DR. While the number of unique tutoring jobs slightly decreased from 251 to 228 the number of unique visitors has risen to 3,230 (from 3,080 in February). TutorZ.com continues with a very high visitor-to-lead conversion ratio of 7.1%. The number of new tutor sign ups (36) was slightly lower in March than in February (46). Alexa hast decreased Tutorzâ global rank down to 1.39 million (from 1.36 million in January). However, Tutorz.coms local U.S. ranking substantially improved to 329,000 (from 627,000 in February). The bounce rate essentially remains constant at 43.6% (43.8% in March).
